Coconut trees prepared for tapping the intoxicating toddy - 'Nadan Thengil Kallu' in local parlance. Throughout Kerala you can see toddy shops serving  toddy from either coconut trees or palm trees along with delicious spicy food. The ultra-spicy food will force you to gulp down more toddy, thereby making you to lose your sober mind. If you want to drink pure unadulterated toddy you have to climb the trees and drink from the pot itself.
